Drum-roll please..........

We are having a .....
can you tell? We are having a little boy. Honestly for some reason I was sure it was a girl...so obviously I was wrong. We are so happy. Weston thinks it is the coolest and Aubrey never cared too much whether it was a boy or a girl - she just wanted a baby.

The ultrasound was a little stressful. They found a small white spec (can't remember the technical name) that is a small marker for down syndrome. Weston had this same thing...and he is just fine, so not too worried. The Dr. also noticed a small VSD or vetricular septal defect. This is not uncommon, but combined with the other heart defect and our past history we of course weren't happy with the news. This also makes our chance for downs a little higher. We are scheduled for another ultrasound in 6 weeks where hopefully the VSD is gone or getting smaller. It is an actual hole between the right and left ventrical. Anyway, Jake is very optimistic...I am on the fence and would love every one's prayers. We feel we can handle just about anything...and if you research VSD's they are the most common heart defect and with surgery...there are rarely complications. You can have a happy full life with a VSD....so that is what is most important. Keep in mind...we still have time for things to look better and we know that with a little prayer and faith the Lord wants to bless our family.

I will keep everyone posted. We are happy to have a boy and hope to see him safe and healthy in a few months.

That's exciting that it's a boy! Your boys will be great friends! I'll keep you guys in my prayers - but like you said, it may be no big deal. Hopefully that's the case.

Yay! We could definitely use another boy cousin!
I'd like to say something like, oh ultrasounds tend to make you nervous for nothing, but I know from experience that's not true. Sorry. You're right though Teri, you guys can handle whatever happens with your little guy. I hope you can not worry too much and enjoy your pregnancy a lot. We'll be happy to meet him too!

Our little Will has a VSD, so I know the worry that comes with it. I tend not to worry until I go to the Dr., and he worries for me! We will keep you in our prayers.
