First day of school: Aubrey, Weston and Spencer

So Aubrey and Weston started school on Tuesday of last week at Gilbert Arts. Here are their morning school pics.

It was raining on the first day of school and they thought it was so cool!

So when I took Spencer to his "meet the teacher" at his new Montessori school this past week...I FELL IN LOVE! I don't know what else to say.  I went to Montessori when I was young and loved it then.  It just brought back so many memories for me.  I have studied the Montessori method and think it is such a great way to educate kids.  I loved his teacher and enjoyed touring the elementary.  I kind of said to her in passing that I would maybe like to send Weston and Aubrey there someday.  So to make a long story short, I got a call the next day that they could take both kids if I wanted to enroll them.  I just had to decide ASAP so they could get it filled before MONDAY. Granted...this was Friday and she gave me an hour to decide.  I ended up taking the kids for a tour and Aubrey loved it too.  So, with a quick decision.  One that I hope I don't regret.  Aubrey and Spencer are now going to this new school.  Weston didn't like the idea of changing school... so we left it at that.    He is now still going to GAA and the other two Montessori.  Drop off and pickup just got a lot more complicated...but here we go.  So school pics: take two.

I had planned on Spencer going half day...but found out that he was the only student doing that...we decided to try it out full day.  So here he is off to his first day of Pre-K.

Aubrey was so excited not to have to wear a uniform.  She has always worn uniform whichever school we have gone too.  She kept with the "side pony" though!  Makes me smile.

Being a mom is hard and I really don't like being in charge of these huge decisions.  I just try to follow the Spirit and pray the Lord will make up the difference.  I feel blessed to live in a state that gives us so many different options for school and education.  I am grateful for amazing teachers and examples to my kids.  Right now I am praying it is a great school year where my kids feel loved, safe and make good friends.

I am off to pick up kids from school.  My heart is happy, and I hope to hear that it went well.
