Summer in Idaho

I just must admit my trip started out kind of rocky. After a long drive with Lucy sleeping and my refusal to pull over (didn't want to wake her...) We finally stopped at a crappy McDonalds just about an hour and a half outside of Vegas. On the California and Nevada border. I rushed the kids into the restaurant as fast as I could because I needed to go to the bathroom...something fierce! In my rush I locked my keys in the car. It ended up being (and I am not over exaggerating this,) a six hour wait!  Six hours people! With only my phone and my wallet...and four kids. Lucy was a wreak and so was I to be honest. I waited for three hours for a locksmith who never found us and turned around and went home. Then another 3 hours for a locksmith to finally get us in the car and back on the road. There were tears and there were laughs...but mostly tears. I drove the kids till 5am to Provo. I wanted to make it up to them and let them sleep the majority of the drive. Once I actually was driving again, it wasn't so bad. We arrived in Idaho the next day around noon and had a great trip. I am wondering what lesson I am to learn from all of this and I keep thinking...I need to slow down and pee when necessary!

Once we got to Idaho the fun began. First up were haircuts.
And hugs...
Lucy struggled this trip. She was cutting 4 eye teeth and had a double ear infection. I also think she was a bit overwhelmed with the constant crowd. I could always make her happy by pushing her on Grandma's swing.
I got to see old friends.
Aubrey had fun with her cousins.
Spencer made an awesome fort!

 Whiffle ball.
Late night stories from Grandma's cool kid encyclopedias.
Singing in our car every time we rode in it!
Babies
And more babies (Tod and Michelle's twins. Caden and Jennette)

Horseback riding
Truman is off of his mission. It was so good to see him.

The hottest parade of my life.
Our tradition of going to Burger's etc. My kids love this place!
And weather that is sooooooooooo much better than Arizona this time of the year.

I got to see my brother Toby perform in a local musical. He is so great on stage and steals the show. Love seeing him share his talents.
